This is significantly higher than the national average. The total state prison population in Florida is around 81,000 inmates.
  • Probation Population: Florida utilizes a probation system to supervise offenders following release or as an alternative to incarceration. The probation population is substantial, with estimates exceeding 180,000 individuals (2020).
  • Violent Crime Rate: Violent crime rates encompass serious offenses like murder, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. According to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program data for 2021, Florida’s violent crime rate ranked 14th highest in the nation.
